Cleveland Riff

  • In all drills, hoops can be substituted with a wall with a taped square or squares of the proper dimensions and distances.
  • Keepers:
    • Five reps (no edits, continuous film) of you throwing a pass to a moving receiver 10 yards away.
    • Five reps (no edits, continuous film) of you catching a pass, while moving at a light run, from a partner 10 yards away.
    • 10 reps (no edits, continuous film) of you running across the hoops and performing an alley-oop dunk off of a pass from 10 yards away.
    • 10 reps (no edits, continuous film) of you blocking shots from 10 yards away.
    • Five reps (no edits, continuous film) where you start by standing in front of the middle hoop. Have a partner pump-fake to one side hoop before shooting at the other hoop. You need to run to the first hoop and recover to block the actual shot.
    • Five reps (no edits, continuous film) where you start standing in front of the middle hoop. Have a partner arch a pass over the hoops to a waiting receiver approximately 6 yards behind. You need to back up to intercept the pass.
  • Chasers:
    • Five reps (no edits, continuous film) of you throwing a pass to a moving receiver 10 yards away.
    • Five reps (no edits, continuous film) of you catching a pass, while moving at a light run, from a partner 10 yards away.
    • 10 reps (no edits, continuous film) of you running across the hoops and performing an alley-oop dunk off of a pass from 10 yards away.
  • Beaters:
    • 10 reps (no edits, continuous film) of you beating a moving player from 10 yards away.
    • 10 reps (no edits, continuous film) of you running to pick up a bludger. While still running, beat another player 10 yards away.
    • Five reps (no edits, continuous film) of you starting in front of the middle hoop. Have a partner stand about 5-7 yards away. Run out and pressure your partner. When your partner names a hoop, turn and throw a beat at that hoop.
    • Five reps (no edits, continuous film) of your offensive start response. Place a bludger on the ground 18 yards away. Have a partner call Brooms Up. Run, pick up the bludger and continue running 18 yards (to where the opposing team’s hoops would be).
    • Five reps (no edits, continuous film) of your defensive start response. Place a bludger on the ground 18 yards away. Have a partner call Brooms Up. Run, pick up the bludger and retreat 18 yards (to where your own team’s hoops would be).
  • Seekers:
    • 10 reps (no edits, continuous film) of you, starting from a three-point stance, diving out as far as you can on the ground. Then get up and sprint 10 yards, while mounted.
    • Due to the difficult nature of simulating seeking, we encourage those trying out for only seeking to also submit as much game film as possible.
