From a strong field of bid candidates, three cities have been selected as finalists to host the 2022 MLQ Championship. The finalists are Round Rock, Texas; Howard County, Md.; and Goldboro, N.C.

Round Rock is the Sports Capital of Texas and has hosted numerous MLQ and USQ events at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex. The facility features fully-lit turf and grass fields and ample electricity and internet. MLQ has collaborated with Round Rock a number of times in the past to host regular-season series.

Howard County, Md. was the host of the 2021 MLQ Championship and helped bring the event to new heights. The county even won a tourism and travel award in conjunction with the event. Troy Park has four lighted synthetic multipurpose fields with press box structures and bleacher seating.

Goldsboro, N.C. has previously hosted a USQ Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship and strives to bring unique events to the city. The Bryan Multi-Sports Complex has been recognized as one of the top sporting facilities in the country, with multiple high-quality fields.

The MLQ team will spend January following up with the cities, conducting site visits and evaluating the experience each bid could bring to the league and its players.

Additionally, Rochester, N.Y. and Round Rock have been selected to host MLQ regular-season series.

Rochester, home to the Rochester Whiteout, has a long history of hosting quidditch, with multiple USQ Northeast Regional Championships taking place in the city. McAvoy Park, the expected site of a 2022 series, is a lit, multipurpose facility with ample parking and bleachers.

The 2022 MLQ Championship location will be announced in early February. The MLQ season schedule will be released next week.
