Major League Quidditch Renews Partnership with Savage Apparel Co.

New York (March 21, 2018) — Major League Quidditch (MLQ) has named Savage Apparel Co. as its official apparel and merchandising partner for the next two seasons.

Savage has provided sports apparel for leagues and players since 2009. The company is headquartered in Richmond, Va. and moved to a new 2,500 square foot production facility in 2017.

The apparel company will produce MLQ’s on-field team kits at a highly-competitive rate, manage the league’s online store and offer a 20 percent discount to MLQ players.

“Savage has been proud to work with MLQ since its inception, and in many ways, the league helped propel us to into the quidditch market,” said Todd Curran, founder and president of Savage. “We’ve grown to love quidditch, from the tenacity of its players to the joy of the game. We’re excited to continue this partnership and support the growth of MLQ.”

Savage also became the official apparel partner of the United Kingdom’s Quidditch Premier League in 2017.

Quidditch is a mixed-gender, full-contact sport played by over 500 teams in 26 countries. The rules were adapted from J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series.

MLQ is the highest level of quidditch in North America. The league runs from early June to mid-August and includes 16 teams from across the United States and Canada.

The teams compete to qualify for the league’s marquee event, the 2018 MLQ Championship in Madison, Wis. The top three teams in each division receive an invitation to the tournament.
