WASHINGTON ADMIRALS RELEASE ACTIVE PLAYERS, DISMISS COACH
OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE – 7:10 PM EDT – 7/14/15
Earlier today, the Washington Admirals released the following statement made by Manager James Hicks:
“The Washington Admirals have released players Max Miceli and Emma Troxler, effective immediately.
Additionally, the organization has decided to make a personnel change in the interest of the team and has removed Raul Natera from his position as head coach of the team. The two sides have mutually agreed to part ways and Natera has been granted his release as a rostered player of the team.
We will continue to play and hold ourselves to the standards set by Major League Quidditch, which includes striving to have a team-first attitude and creating an environment where players feel comfortable and welcome at every practice and league event.”
Major League Quidditch stands behind and supports the Admirals management in the decision and are proud of the way the team has shown a commitment to upholding the standards of quality, respect and positive personal conduct, all cornerstones of our league, our volunteers, our teams and our players. The managers of each of our teams were carefully chosen with the ability to keep such standards in mind, and we are proud to see decisions that reflect the trust we put in them, especially in difficult decisions like the one the Admirals’ management had to make. We wish the team the best of luck going forward and will do all we can to help make the transition in coaching staff easier.
