This position reports directly to MLQ’s Marketing Director. The MLQ Market Analyst is responsible for conducting market research, surveys, audience insights, and data analysis related projects. Will need to be a self-starter who can seek out intelligent insights, design, and execute their own research experiments, drum up participation, and clearly analyze MLQ’s various audiences and market opportunities.
General Responsibilities
- Define areas where more information is needed to understand MLQ’s audiences, growth opportunities, competitors and brand positioning.
- Design and execute primary research campaigns and experiments.
- Seek out and maintain a database of relevant secondary reports/insights.
- Analyze large sets of data generated from your research to arrive at numerical trends and relevant market insights.
- Make recommendations on marketing campaigns, brand positioning, programs, and strategies based on insights.
- Uncover meaningful insights about quadball, players and spectators while tracking brand performance and perceptions.
- Projects may include: market sizing, market penetration, competitor analysis, potential revenue streams, and brand launches.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated understanding of statistical analysis and research design.
- Worked on one or more surveys in an educational or professional context.
- Pursuit of or degree in marketing, statistics, analytics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of marketing strategy, such as: brand positioning; competitive analysis; market frameworks (e.g. PESTEL, SWOT, BCG matrix); design thinking; target audiences; marketing funnels; and others.
- Approximate work commitment 5-8 hours/week, but more if necessary.
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets or other data aggregation tools.
- Growth-minded.
