We currently have three openings for this role.
This position reports directly to MLQ’s Marketing Director. MLQ is launching exciting new programs for 2023 and beyond, each of which will require a head marketer devoted to each specific program. The MLQ Product Marketing Managers will each champion the needs of their specific program, heading up the program’s marketing strategy, cultivating the program’s fan base and managing the outreach to take their program to the next level. More information will be available to relevant candidates upon review of their applications.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, manage, and optimize marketing strategy for your specific program.
- Advocate for marketing needs of your product/program within the larger context of marketing the MLQ brand.
- Coordinate and track all advertising, content (including social media, blogs, etc), events, research, PR, and outreach initiatives related to your program throughout the creation/execution process.
- Ensure your product is getting attention from its intended target audiences.
- Grow audiences, sales, and interest related to your program.
- Work closely with the program’s developers, leaders, and boots on the ground to make sure marketing needs are met.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- 1+ in marketing or sales experience (professional preferred).
- Launched a program or catapulted a project, initiative, social media page, business, or team to success (and have the numbers to back it up).
- Strong understanding of marketing strategy, such as: brand positioning; competitive analysis; market frameworks (e.g. PESTEL, SWOT, BCG matrix); design thinking; target audiences; marketing funnels; and others.
- Copywriting, advertising, public relations, or social media experience preferred.
- Approximate work commitment 10 hours/week, but more if necessary. You are essentially running point on marketing a startup in some of these scenarios.
- Strong interest in league development OR quadball training and player development OR sports marketing OR underserved voices in sports.
- You are the hype person in your friend group!
- Knack for being in the right place at the right time when it comes to closing a deal.
- Strong working knowledge of digital and social media landscape with a clear understanding of the nuances between ad channels and/or content marketing channels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
