The MLQ Senior Creative Designer reports directly to MLQ’s Creative Director. You will be responsible for creative project management in addition to designing everything from digital assets for our MLQ Virtual series and regular season to content that lives on our social channels or website. A strong sense of brand is a must, as well as a willingness to handle everything from simple execution of small design needs to larger creative projects. You will work cross-functionally with other MLQ departments to support the creation of both public-facing and internal content.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the MLQ Creative Designers:
- Build processes to discover, define and identify the team’s assignments.
- Hold weekly/biweekly meetings to create and review assignments.
- Design and production on many league and/or team-related projects including print ads, sales collateral, posters, digital graphics, outdoor campaigns, large format, presentations, etc.
- Take direction and run with it–you will own projects from start to finish while working directly with key stakeholders across the organization.
- Ensure consistent logo usage and help maintain established brand standards.
- Work with the MLQ Creative Director to prioritize projects and create timely results.
- Research and pitch new design trends, techniques and technology.
- Edit and update design files to reflect current campaigns from one season to the next.
- Develop content that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence on company sites, and encourages audience participation.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- 2-3 years of graphic design experience required.
- Management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web a must.
- Professional experience managing several projects and stakeholders at once while still hitting all deadlines.
- You can create projects and apply revisions under a tight schedule.
- Approximate work commitment 5-10 hours/week, but more if necessary.
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop required.
- Ability to iterate and receive criticism–we are constantly evolving our creative approach and some projects may require more revisions than others.
- Hands on and adaptable.
