MLQ Statistics Analysts are members of the MLQ Statistics Team in the Gameplay Department and report directly to MLQ Statistics Coordinator. Analysts record and aggregate statistics and design higher-level statistical analysis for the league.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in a training session on MLQ statistics and learn how to accurately and efficiently track individual stats.
  • Watch game footage and track statistics.
    • This may include injury data to be used by the MLQ Player Health and Safety team.
  • Analyze league metadata to produce informative and novel data representations for public distribution.
  • Develop and standardize gameplay metrics and statistics.
  • Develop creative and improved aggregation systems for league data.
  • Produce training materials to familiarize others with the taking of MLQ statistics.
  • Be creative and willing to develop new methods for quadball data analysis.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with statistical analysis or data collection.
  • Familiarity with the sport of quadball.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Prior experience as a player or coach preferred but not required.
  • Interest in data, statistics and their collection and analysis.
  • Comfortability watching hours of film.
  • Comfortability with Google Suite (Docs, Spreadsheets, Hangout etc.), Slack, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and high responsiveness to email and other messaging platforms.
  • Prepared to work in a collaborative manner within a team environment.
  • Willing to familiarize themselves with MLQ’s statistics platform.
  • Flexibility to work two or more hours per week.
