Love MLQ? Want to contribute to our virtual tip jar? Major League Quidditch’s Patreon is live!
Patreon is a membership platform that connects content creators (MLQ) with fans and supporters (you).
We have four membership tiers, each with unique offerings ranging from exclusive access to season vlogs to subscriber-only merchandise to early looks at roster moves. You can sign up to send us as little as $5/month and as much as $20.
The 2021 season was a massive leap forward for our Digital Media team. We were able to develop a livestream setup capable of making every Series of the Week look as good as our MLQ Championship matches. We created highlights that were both more timely and of a higher quality than anything we had produced previously. We consistently broadcasted two analysis shows a week (MLQ Replay and Set a Pick) for the entirety of the season, which added more depth to the conversations surrounding our league, and we followed the lead of major professional sports leagues by condensing our biggest matches into more consumable packages with Quid in 5.
Your contributions will allow our digital media and marketing teams to continue to evolve and expand in 2022 and beyond. We will be able to purchase the equipment to furnish more streaming setups and broadcast an even larger percentage of our games in high definition. We will be able to subsidize the travel costs of our digital media volunteers to help extend and balance out the coverage we can give to each of our franchises.
The contributions will also allow our marketing team to further spread the word about our incredible franchises and athletes. We will be using these funds to invest in more effective social media tools as well as further the scope and outreach of our content.
Our Patreon will also serve as the library for all our game film going back to our first season. By the beginning of the 2022 season, all past matches will move off of Youtube and into our Patreon vault. Beginning with the 2022 MLQ season, all Series of the Week will still remain permanently public on our Youtube channel, in addition to being listed on the Patreon. All other series will still be publicly available live and for a week following the match, but, after that point, the recordings will be available exclusively on the Patreon. This change will not affect our teams, as coaching staffs will be given access to all of our film library for scouting and game planning. Ultimately, this migration to Patreon will allow for an easily searchable, historical database of film that is all available in one place for the diehard fan to access whenever they want.
The idea of quidditch matches on your television every Saturday has been a part of our plan for what we wanted MLQ to be from its infancy. We are now closer to that goal than we ever have been before, and subscribing to our Patreon will help make that vision a reality.
