A potential violation related to past conduct and respect as it pertains to gender equity was flagged to MLQ yesterday in an unofficial channel. MLQ would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm its goal of creating and fostering gender equity in quidditch and continues to value our decision to uphold the gender maximum rule and Title 9¾ commitment of our partner league USQ. We assure that we will continue to handle violations and uphold gender equity.
We want to remind the community that if violations of the MLQ Code of Conduct, MLQ Harassment Policy or other MLQ policies arise, individuals can report infractions using instructions found under Article IV of the MLQ Code of Conduct. Depending on the nature and level of sensitivity of the investigation, MLQ reserves the right not to publicize findings or verdicts from investigations.
Outside of official reports to the league, we ask that individual community members do not take it upon themselves to begin a behavior pattern of personally questioning, judging or otherwise attempting to investigate an athlete, official, volunteer or other person’s gender identity. As the gender rule states, “The gender that a player identifies as is considered to be that player’s gender.”
If you have questions or concerns about gender equity in MLQ, please feel free to email [email protected]. If you have questions related to the MLQ Code of Conduct or another MLQ policy, you can contact us at [email protected].
