The MLQ Gameplay Co-Director will work directly with MLQ Gameplay Director Ryan Davis and report to Commissioners Ethan Sturm and Amanda Dallas. They will oversee the entire gameplay department with Davis, including but not limited to officials, policies, rules and statistics. The MLQ Gameplay Co-Director must ensure that standards of gameplay are met at all matches throughout the league. This individual will also be responsible for overseeing the processing of any on-field disciplinary reports filed.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the MLQ People Operations Director to create and enforce MLQ policies.
  • Ensure MLQ Officials Manager Chris LeCompte has filled all gameday assignments and assist with officials recruitment, as needed.
  • Complete required reports and records, including but not limited to disciplinary reports and transfer requests filed with the league.
  • Ensure the integrity of all matches.
  • Organize and lead the MLQ Rules Team, submitting change proposals to the Commissioners.
  • Create seasonal gameplay schedules with input from the MLQ directors team.
  • Willingness to research and apply new sports safety measures as they emerge.
  • Work with MLQ Gameplay Project Manager Joshua Mansfield to lead assorted gameplay-related projects.
  • Oversee and assist the MLQ Statistics Manager as needed with the MLQ Statistics team.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Avid consumer of quadball gameplay footage.
  • Readily accessible via phone on assigned match days.
  • Above average understanding of the MLQ and USQ Rulebooks required. 
  • Knowledge of standard sports safety practices.
  • Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, department personnel and the public, and deal with them in a courteous and tactful manner.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Ability to effectively communicate principles of good sportsmanship.
  • Cannot hold a leadership position (manager, coach, etc.) in an MLQ franchise.
  • Must be able to attend MLQ Championship in August.
