The 2018 MLQ season commences Saturday, June 2 at 12 pm ET with the Detroit Innovators traveling to the Indianapolis Intensity. Though the Intensity swept this series last season on its way to a division title three-peat and an MLQ Championship finals appearance, the Innovators have bolstered their roster and is looking to be a contender with the divisional defender. With such parity in the North this summer, the results of this weekend may very well determine the new divisional champion and carry heavy post-season implications.

At 1:30 PM MST/3:30 PM EST on Saturday, June 2, our first Series of the Week kicks off: the Salt Lake City Hive vs San Francisco Argonauts. For two seasons, this annual opening day rivalry has been the marquee matchup in the West Division and has served as the difference between second and third place each year. While each team has won this series once, the home team has always come up short. However, the margins have been thin—five of six games have been decided by a snitch grab. And, with so much on the line for postseason seeding on the very first day of the schedule, we expect more of the same.
